Yes, AaratiSangrah is completely free. We are supported by Google AdSense advertisements. Our mission is to keep all aarti content freely accessible to every devotee.

AaratiSangrah requires an internet connection to load pages. However, your browser may cache recently visited pages for a short time. We are planning a PWA (Progressive Web App) with offline support in a future update.

AaratiSangrah is designed mobile-first. It works excellently on all smartphones and tablets. The app features a bottom navigation bar, large readable fonts, and a Screen Wake Lock feature so your screen never dims while reading aartis during pooja.

Most aartis are available in both Devanagari script (for Marathi, Hindi, Sanskrit, Gujarati speakers) and Roman transliteration (for diaspora and those unfamiliar with Devanagari). You can toggle between scripts using the देवनागरी / Roman button in the header.

An Aarti (आरती) is a Hindu devotional ritual where a lamp (usually with ghee or camphor) is waved before a deity while a devotional song is sung. The word comes from Sanskrit 'Aaratrika' meaning 'to remove darkness.' Aartis praise the deity's qualities and seek blessings.

An Aarti always involves the ritual of showing a lit lamp to the deity and is sung aloud. A Stotra is a Sanskrit hymn of praise that can be recited anytime without any ritual. A Prarthana is a personal prayer in any language. AaratiSangrah includes all three types.

Sukhakarta Dukhharta (सुखकर्ता दुखहर्ता) is the primary Ganesh aarti, composed by Sant Ramdas Swami. It is always sung first and is most auspicious. After it, you can sing Jay Ganesh Jay Ganesh Deva and Jai Ganesha Jai Ganesha.

Mantrapushpanjali is a concluding prayer in which the devotee offers flowers (pushpa) while reciting Vedic mantras (mantra) as a final offering (anjali) to the deity. It is traditionally performed at the end of every pooja, after the aarti. It is available on AaratiSangrah in Devanagari and Roman.

Pasaydan (पसायदान) is a universal prayer composed by Sant Dnyaneshwar at the end of his Dnyaneshwari - his Marathi commentary on the Bhagavad Gita. It is a prayer for the welfare of all beings in the world. It is sung at the conclusion of many religious gatherings in Maharashtra.

Ghalin Lotangan (घालीन लोटांगण) is a short but deeply meaningful Marathi prayer of complete surrender to God. 'Lotangan' means prostrating with the full body. It is sung at the end of pooja as a gesture of humility and total devotion.

The Digital Pothi is AaratiSangrah's custom pooja sequence builder. You can add aartis in any order to create your personal pooja sequence, then enter Pothi Reader mode to read them one by one, hands-free, with screen wake-lock active.

Yes! Your custom Pothi sequence is saved in your browser's localStorage, so it persists across sessions on the same device. However, it is not synced across devices. Clearing browser data will reset your Pothi.

On the homepage, you will find ready-made Pooja sequences like Ganeshotsav Complete, Navratri, Sandhyakal Pooja, etc. Click on any template card to load it directly into the builder with one click.

Shareable Pothi links are coming in a future update. You will be able to generate a WhatsApp-shareable link like /pothi?seq=slug1,slug2 to share your custom sequence with family members.

AaratiSangrah activates the Screen Wake Lock API when you enter the Pothi Reader. This prevents your screen from dimming while you are reading aartis during pooja - especially useful when your hands are busy with the aarti thali.

Yes! Every aarti page has an A- / A+ font scaler. The font size ranges from 14px to 32px and is persisted to localStorage, so your preference is remembered across visits.

Use the देवनागरी / Roman toggle button in the Header. Your script preference is saved to localStorage under the key 'aarati-script' and remains active on all future visits.

Yes! AaratiSangrah offers three themes: Sattvic (light/day), Sandhya (dark/night), and Pothi (warm sepia). Click the theme button in the Header to cycle through them. Your preference is saved automatically.
